Primary Props

I'm currently serving as the Primary Chorister in our ward (Brian is the pianist!) We have a great time. It's certainly been a chance to stretch my creativity. Here are two props I've made recently...a singing tennis ball named "Sam" (Samuel for the boys and Samantha for the girls) and an elephant I have yet to name. Sam is easy to hide, allows me to stick a little piece of paper with the next song in his/her mouth, and gives cues to the kids of when to sing the words (mouth open) and when to hum (mouth closed). It was hilarious watching a little boy in our primary try to keep Sam's mouth open during parts of a song. Tennis balls are tough to squeeze for little tykes! I'm currently looking for a grey sock that I can use for the elephant. I'll have kids come up and help me lead the singing with an elephant trunk (aka...a child's arm :) These are the kinds of things I never got to do in Relief Society!

That is awesome. I love the props and I would LOVE to have you come be our chorister! Sometimes I'd way rather be the chorister than in the presidency... Have fun!

Those are really creative ideas. Did you come up with them on your own? Or do you have a cool book full of suggestions?

Good work! That's great that you get to serve together. You are so creative. Did you see on my blog how my dad did that 28,000 piece puzzle? Brian's puzzle post mad me think of it!

Wow! I'm sure the kids LOVE you. You and Brian have to be every primary president's dream duo! :) I'm so happy I looked at your blog this morning...you've been blogging like crazy this month! Dave's parents are in town and we're taking them to Chicago for the weekend. If you feel like being spontaneous on Saturday, you should drive down and meet us at the botanical gardens (we just pay per car so you could get in with us for free...). Or we could actually plan in advance sometime to meet up with each other!
