Two Weeks in Oregon

Our long-awaited summer getaway finally came. Julie and I spent two fantastic weeks in Oregon with my family. During the first week we took a day trip to Silver Falls. We saw two of 10 beautiful falls and then made our way up through several quaint small towns as we drove back to Portland.

The Glockenspiel restaurant in one of the towns had a little display that played on the hour.

During week 2 we spent time in Sunriver in Central Oregon. My family has a home there that is a lot of fun. We went on bike rides, walks, boating and rafting trips.

We also had lunch at our favorite Bend getaway -- the Pine Tavern.

I went on a white water rafting trip with the guys. Here's a shot from the action.

And here's a picture of the whole gang. It was fun to have the whole family together again (except for Kevin, who was sorely missed).

Even though we missed you this summer we're glad you were able to have so much fun with Brian and his family. It looks like your families enjoy similar things.

I loved the rafting pic: how come all the in-laws are smiling and all the Brinkerhoffs look scared? Interesting. :-)
