Our Fun Day Trip to Kohler Wisconsin!

This past Saturday we explored yet another hidden treasure in the great state of Wisconsin...the village of Kohler (located just 50 minutes north of us). It was named after the man who made all of the bathroom fixtures (toilets, tubs, etc.) I didn't really know about Kohler until we moved here, but Brian knew of the brand from when his parents built their current home (and were picking out bathroom decor). It's a cute little village built around a factory, but it is anything but "industrial". It's now actually known for it's amazing golf courses...in fact, the PGA tour will be held there next year!

A grand hotel called the American Club is the center piece of the town. We had a lovely time in their courthouse gardens. They were in full bloom and filled with the most wonderful plants! We bought a smoothie at a little cafe inside and sipped our morning treat on one of the picturesque benches. (As an extra little bonus, the lady who took our order made too much and gave us 2 smoothies for the price of 1!)

We then walked along the most charming street to the Kohler Design Center. It included a floor for the history of bathroom fixtures, a floor for current Kohler items, and a floor with whole rooms made around Kohler products. We absolutely loved it!

And my personal favorite...

Unfortunately it was here that our camera battery died, but we also got to do a walk around a quaint little lake and enjoy a picnic lunch we packed. It was a great little day trip and we recommend it to anyone. For anyone who comes to visit, we promise to include it in the "Brinkerhoff Wisconsin Tour".

Did you see any ultra modern faucets that come out of the wall above the sink? Dave wants one of those in our house someday.

That looks like such a neat town. Isn't it great to see some of what surrounds you! I saw Justin, Amelia, and kids today. They looked great!
